From October 30th to November 2nd, the youth of Grace Avenue Bible Church gathered at Ocean Cove for a refreshing and spiritually rich retreat. The group was blessed with beautiful weather that set the tone for a memorable weekend focused on Scripture, fellowship, and rest.
Away from the noise of daily life and free from the distractions of technology, the youth were able to slow down, connect with God, and deepen their relationships with one another. Surrounded by the breathtaking coastal scenery, the retreat offered a peaceful setting to reflect, pray, and grow together.
A central part of the retreat was the study of the Book of James, which took place twice a day in a close, intimate circle around the bonfire. These sessions were thoughtfully led by a team of Young Leaders from the church, who guided discussions, answered questions, and encouraged the youth to apply biblical truths to their daily lives.
Outside of the study times, the weekend was filled with energy and joy. The youth participated in a variety of activities, including sports, hikes, volleyball, board games, and plenty of relaxation. Shared meals and conversations added warmth and unity to the group, thanks in large part to the dedicated kitchen team that served faithfully throughout the retreat.
In total, about 45 youth, along with the kitchen team, took part in the event—each returning home refreshed, encouraged, and strengthened in their walk with God.
The retreat at Ocean Cove was a beautiful reminder that when young people step away from the world’s distractions and intentionally gather around God’s Word, He meets them, shapes them, and draws them closer to Himself.
