The preparations for the upcoming annual convention usually begin in August. The PCSBA 87th convention will be a business convention where the Association’s delegates will have an opportunity to vote for the change in leadership, including the new president, vice-presidents, as well as the members of the Executive Committee of PCSBA.
Few people know that the preparation of the convention requires the efforts of many. The election committee, elected and approved at the previous convention, collects proposals from churches on the composition of the new leadership and members of the Executive Committee of the Association, processes the information received and prepares the ballots.
The president of the Association and the department leaders prepare annual reports. The Almanac of the convention is being developed, in which these reports will be placed. Although only selected delegates of churches are invited to the business convention, one can get acquainted with the Almanac, the decisions of the convention, watch the video broadcast of the seminars and photos of the convention on a website specially prepared for the convention.
I.V. Mileyev and the Executive Committee also prepare the agenda for the convention, organize speakers and seminars, and much more. The Association’s office administrator sends out the invitations to the convention, and takes care of a lot of other organizational issues.
All of this is done so that the delegates who come to the convention could benefit from mutual fellowship, have an accurate understanding of the Association’s ministries, see how churches participate in this process, and appreciate being part of a bigger picture of those who serve God together as brothers and sisters in Christ.
