On March 22, the youth movement United the Movement held its first worship night of the year on the steps of the California State Capitol in Sacramento, bringing together members of local churches and passersby who became interested in what was taking place.
The outdoor event was held at dusk on the Capitol steps and combined youth fellowship with worship music. Attendees noted the inspiring atmosphere as voices were lifted in praise to the Lord, and fellowship continued long after the formal program ended.
The evening’s message was based on 2 Corinthians 4:4: “In whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.” Pastor Max Vusik reminded those gathered that God created the universe and humanity to display His glory, and that the cross reveals God’s power, holiness, justice, faithfulness, and love.
“God loves you so much that He gave His only Son to bear the punishment we deserved,” the speaker said, calling listeners to reflect on the meaning of the gospel and the hope that God gives.
Organizers noted that the event achieved its goal of uniting different churches in worship and service to the community. Several attendees emphasized that the open-air format made the gathering accessible to passersby, creating natural opportunities for conversation and invitations to prayer.
United the Movement plans to continue its series of worship nights throughout the year, aiming to strengthen unity among churches and share the gospel with the world.
