More than 20 young people gathered on Saturday, April 11 at Grace Avenue Bible Church for a youth prayer breakfast. Many of the participants arrived early to prepare a light breakfast for everyone. After breakfast, the youth sang together, prayed, spent time in fellowship, and listened to a message from the youth leader, Eugene Belous.
The speaker focused on practical lessons about prayer, using the Lord’s Prayer and related Bible verses:
- 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 — pray often, give thanks, and keep a joyful heart.
- Matthew 6:5–15 (the Lord’s Prayer) — pray from the heart, not to show off; praise God (Matt. 6:9) — David’s Psalms were shared as an example of honest praise.
- Matthew 6:10 — ask God to work in our lives and for His will to be done.
- Matthew 6:11 — pray for daily needs (“daily bread”).
- Matthew 7:7 — keep asking, seeking and knocking with faith.
- Matthew 6:12 — seek and give forgiveness; don’t hold grudges.
- Matthew 6:13 — ask for help resisting temptation and for protection for ourselves, our families, the church and the wider community.
The morning ended with more worship and grouped prayer time. Attendees said they left encouraged to pray more and to support one another.
