On March 7, another gathering of families with children with special needs took place at the Slavic Baptist Church of West Sacramento. These meetings are usually held in two separate classes: one for the children and one for the mothers. The children have a Bible lesson similar to a Sunday school class, while the mothers engage in discussions on various topics to support and encourage one another.
This time, the mothers reflected on the biblical women whose names are mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew. We recalled the difficult circumstances in each of their lives and discussed what examples we can apply to our own situations. Meanwhile, the children were memorizing a Golden Verse from Scripture and working on crafts, which they later presented as gifts to their mothers.
After the sessions, we enjoyed fellowship around the tables with refreshments. During this time, everyone who wished had the opportunity to share songs, recite poems, and participate in other ways. One of our special children, Seryozha, is gifted with a special musical talent—he always conducts the group singing. Other children also have special talents, and they are very happy to have the opportunity to participate in the ministry together.
During our fellowship, we congratulated everyone who had a birthday in March and prayed for God’s blessing upon them.
Our group sincerely thanks the church and all the helpers involved in this ministry!
“...Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you…” (Colossians 1:3)
