This March marks the release of Cultural Crossroads: From Challenges to Impact—Ethnic Churches in the American Mosaic, a new book by Yevgeniy Kovalenko, Associate Pastor at House of the Gospel in Fresno, California.
Written from the perspective of someone who grew up in the Slavic immigrant church community, the book addresses a challenge familiar to many churches in our Association: how to preserve cultural heritage while faithfully engaging the surrounding culture with the gospel. Across America, many diaspora churches face generational transitions, language shifts, and questions about their future mission. Cultural Crossroads offers biblical reflection, cultural analysis, and practical examples from churches navigating these realities.
The book has been endorsed by PCSBA President Oleksandr Pronin and also engages research and insights from the work of former PCSBA President Vyacheslav Tsvirinko, whose leadership helped shape conversations about the future of Slavic evangelical churches in North America.
Cultural Crossroads has also received strong encouragement from veteran church leader Dr. Anthony Ahaev, who writes that the book offers “proven ideas from this well of sweet water” for pastors and church leaders serving in transitional ministry contexts.
Cultural Crossroads is now available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GQ2SS616.
