On December 27, in the days leading up to the New Year, Rockland Baptist Church hosted a solo Christmas concert by the Izmailov Brothers, featuring violin and piano. The audience included people of all ages—from children and young families to senior music lovers—and represented both American and Slavic communities.
The Izmailov Brothers are internationally acclaimed musicians and prize winners of numerous international competitions. They are former soloists of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Their exceptional artistry, technical excellence, and charismatic stage presence make each performance deeply emotional and captivating.
The evening’s program featured beloved Christmas melodies alongside masterpieces of classical music, including excerpts from The Nutcracker by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and the virtuosic Concert Fantasy by Sergei Frolov based on themes from George Gershwin’s opera Porgy and Bess. The performance was marked by a high level of musicianship and was met with enthusiastic applause throughout the evening. The audience left with warm and uplifting impressions.
Prior to the concert, Pastor N. A. Bugrev addressed the audience with a short message about the true meaning of Christmas and invited everyone to attend the Sunday worship service.
More classical music concerts are planned in the future. Please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.
